The Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported that the Syrian air defenses intercepted early in the morning Israeli raids near the capital, Damascus.

The agency added that the air defenses intercepted hostile targets, and responded to what it described as "Israeli aggression" over Lebanese airspace, and managed to shoot down a number of missiles before reaching their targets.

SANA reported that the Israeli raids killed three civilians, and wounded four - including a child - as a result of the fall of Israeli missile fragments on homes in the towns of Al-Hujaira and Al-Adliya in Damascus countryside.

The Syrian authorities had previously reported that their air defenses had responded to Israeli missiles in the vicinity of the capital, and were able to "shoot down most of them."

Israel has remained silent to date on Syrian accusations of attacking targets near Damascus.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli authorities often tend to conceal the many times that they have attacked targets in the heart of the Syrian territories, since they used since 2013 to launch dozens of attacks inside Syria, to prevent what it describes as "Iranian concentration" inside the Syrian territories.
