  In 1956, Wang Qiaochu served as a surgical resident and a Chinese medicine physician in the branch of Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital (Xuhui Hospital). During this period, he innovatively developed a compound Hongteng decoction, successfully treated many patients with inoperable appendicitis and appendix abscess, and published a paper. Professor Wang Qiaochu used acupuncture to treat schistosomiasis antimony reaction, malaria and other patients, and promoted the application nationwide.

  It is understood that Professor Wang Qiaochu has served as deputy director of the Chinese Medicine Department of the Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau, director of the Shanghai Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and director of the Shanghai Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine Information.
