There is some kind of state of emergency in Spain. The country is in a situation that has not been experienced since the civil war in 1936. At the time of writing, almost 23,000 people have died and more than 220,000 cases of infection have been registered, according to figures from Johns Hopkins University Hospital.

Award-winning filmmaker Marcel Mettelsiefen has portrayed how the population has managed to quarantine life. A piece of his documentary from the Spanish everyday will be broadcast in Agenda tonight at 21.15.
