- It's unusually empty now in corona times. In normal cases, this is a place where a lot of people move during all hours of the day, says Petra Sörling, CEO of Rosengårds Fastighets AB.

People in the area are staying indoors to a greater extent now during the corona pandemic, which in turn may irritate their neighbors more than before.

The circadian rhythm changes

For Rosengård real estate AB, the total number of disturbance cases has increased by more than 50 per cent during the corona pandemic compared with the same period last year. The vast majority of disturbance cases concern children.

- It is noise disturbance, children who are up late, thumping or that you are up and cooking late. The daytime rhythm has changed as you stay home more, says Iman Ahmad, Bosocial Coordinator at Rosengårds Fastighets AB.

Overcrowding

The management realized early on that isolation during the coronary pandemic could lead to irritation.

- It was noticed earlier here at Rosengård than my other colleagues in the industry, says Petra Sörling.

The fact that it was noticed more quickly here, she says, is because many people live in a crowded place and that more children are home from school than in other parts of Malmö.

Patience and understanding

The fact that neighbors are more annoyed at each other right now is also recognized by Malmö's largest landlord EIA, where the number of disturbance cases has increased by just over 10 percent.

- Yes, even we have noticed an increase in neighbors complaining about each other, it is so when we spend more time at home. We urge everyone to be extra patient and have an understanding of each other, says Margaretha Söderström, communications manager at EIA.
