The Yemeni government said that the Transitional Council's declaration of a state of emergency and self-administration for the southern governorates is a clear rebellion against the legitimate government, a clear coup against the Riyadh agreement, and a continuation of the armed rebellion against the state in August 2019.

And the government held - in a statement published by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) - the transitional council and its leaders in Abu Dhabi full responsibility for not implementing the Riyadh agreement, until the complete coup against state institutions in Aden through their statement issued yesterday Saturday.

The government called on the Saudi-Emirati coalition to support legitimacy and shoulder its historical responsibilities towards the territorial integrity and integrity of the Republic of Yemen.

It also called on the international community, the United Nations, the Arab League, the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the Gulf Cooperation Council to condemn this coup and support the legitimate government to implement Security Council resolutions on Yemen.

The government confirmed its full responsibility for the repercussions of the August coup, and responded to the brothers' efforts to contain the repercussions, up to the Riyadh agreement, which the government was keen to implement in its terms.

Rejected and protested
In its response to this step, the authorities of six southern Yemeni provinces - out of eight provinces - announced their refusal to declare the Southern Transitional Council an autonomy for the south of the country.

The provincial authorities in Hadramawt, Shabwa, Al-Mahra, Abyan, Socotra and Lahj crossed statements in successive statements, rejecting the Southern Transitional Declaration, and its adherence to loyalty to legitimacy and to Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.

The UAE-backed transitional council has been in control in Aden, the provisional capital of the country since last August, after fierce fighting with government forces, ending with the expulsion of legitimacy, which accused the UAE of plotting a second coup, after the Houthi coup, which Abu Dhabi denies.

Local Yemeni sources confirmed to the island that after the announcement of midnight last night, the Transitional Council forces began deploying military patrols in all streets of Aden, and surrounded the central bank that is administratively supervised by the legitimate government authorities, as is the case in most state institutions, at a time when forces are imposed The transitional security control, along with the Saudi-Emirati coalition forces on the ground.
