It is the Young Care organization that is behind the initiative. The organization works to put young people in contact with the elderly and carry out various activities. But because of the corona crisis, people now have to think about and find activities that can be done remotely.

- It is important to encourage the elderly. Just because they are in quarantine does not mean that they can be with us like this, says Elina Samadzadeh, who is part of Young Care.

Continued distance activities

Elder Mayor Erik Slottner (KD) was also present and took notes with the young people in the choir. The City of Stockholm has previously collaborated with Ung care and currently around 700 young people are associated with the organization in Stockholm.

And despite the corona crisis, he hopes that activities with the elderly will continue - albeit slightly modified.

- I presume that these visits from a distance will continue. Then we also work to get more digital aids into our elderly homes, says Erik Slottner (KD).
