The Iranian Customs Organization announced that the value of trade exchanges with the United Arab Emirates amounted to 13.5 billion dollars, while Iranian media saw that the volume of trade exchanges between them is subject to political accounts at the global and regional levels.

The organization's president, Mahdi Mir Ashrafi, said that during the past Iranian year (March 21, 2019 to March 19, 2020), his country was able to export its goods to 128 countries despite unfair US sanctions, as well as importing goods from 112 countries.

Mir Ashrafi added in his annual report that the country's foreign trade during the last Iranian year exceeded 169 million and 300 thousand tons, valued at 85 billion and 107 million dollars.

He explained that the value of non-oil exports amounted to 41 billion and 737 million dollars, while the value of imports amounted to 43 billion and 737 million dollars.

The Iranian official added that Asia, Europe and Africa formed the first three continents in importing Iranian goods, stressing that China, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates topped the list of importers of these goods.

The value of trade exchanges between Iran and the UAE amounted to $ 13.5 billion (Al-Jazeera).

Trade with the UAE
During the past Iranian year, the United Arab Emirates imported $ 4.5 billion from its northern neighbor, according to Mir Ashraf, who confirmed that Dubai's exports to Iran exceeded $ 8.9 billion during the same period.

And contrary to the rules governing trade exchanges between Iran and other countries, its trade with the UAE is subject to political accounts at the global and regional levels, according to the researcher in economic affairs, Muhammad Islami.

In his speech to Al-Jazeera Net, an Islamist pointed to the high volume of trade exchange between Tehran and Dubai over the past year, and Abu Dhabi's return from its decision to reduce economic ties with its northern neighbor, adding that the UAE feared the repercussions of tension with Iran - especially in the Gulf waters - over its national security.

He explained that the UAE, due to its proximity to Iranian waters, sees itself as affected by any possible military action against its northern neighbor, adding that Abu Dhabi managed to reduce tension with the Houthis and put an end to their attacks on its vital installations, which is welcome by Iran.

An Islamist expected that the volume of trade exchange between Tehran and Dubai will continue to increase during the coming period, noting that any escalation and tension in the Gulf waters would negatively affect trade exchanges between Iran and the UAE.

The UAE had turned its compass towards Iran at the beginning of last summer, when the Emirati Coast Guard Commander, Brigadier Musbah Al-Ahbabi met with the Commander of the Iranian Border Guard, Brigadier General Qassim Rezaei, and the Emirati side spoke about the need for continuous coordination between Tehran and Abu Dhabi to ensure the safety of navigation in the region.

The Emirati-Iranian meeting in Tehran came after a six-year rupture affected by the developments of the Saudi-Emirati war on Yemen and Riyadh cut diplomatic ties with Tehran, against the backdrop of an angry Iranian protestors raided the headquarters of the Saudi embassy in Tehran, after Riyadh executed the Shiite cleric Nimr Baqir al-Nimr in 2016.

Strategic alliance
and return to the annual report of the Iranian customs, China imported Iranian goods with more than 9 billion dollars, compared to its exports to Iran by about 11.2 billion dollars during the past Iranian year, and thus occupies the top list of Tehran's trading partners.

According to Islam, the strong commercial partnership between his country and China dates back to the fact that the latter is the largest market in the world, as well as the strength of political relations between Tehran and Beijing.

Referring to the alliance between the two countries and Beijing's role in breaking US sanctions on Tehran, he stressed that the Chinese private sector occupies a large share of the volume of exchanges between China and Iran, as well as government cooperation between them, especially in the field of continuing to import oil from Iran after the American ban To zero Iranian oil exports.

Trade with Iraq
Although Iraq was a second solution in the importers' category of Iranian goods worth approximately $ 9 billion, the Iranian customs report did not mention the volume of Baghdad's exports to Iran.

Iranian trade with Iraq is characterized by many advantages by virtue of the geographical factor, according to economic researcher Mohamed Islami, and the two countries need goods and goods that the private sector can exchange without the need to use financial systems for commercial exchanges.

Islami added that the volume of trade exchanges between Iran and Iraq demonstrates the two sides' knowledge of how to circumvent US sanctions.

According to Iranian customs reports, during the past year, Tehran exported goods to 40 European countries, 28 African countries, and 21 Asian countries, as well as 12 countries from the American continent.

Iran also imported goods from 41 European countries, 31 Asian countries, 12 countries from the American continent, and 11 African countries.
