April 25, 2020 Pope Francis also celebrated Mass in Santa Marta today. "How many times have movements and groups been born in the Church that wanted to convince" with words, with proselytism, "and how did they end up? In corruption". These are the words of Pope Francis at the end of the homily delivered in Santa Marta. At the heart of the Pope's speech is the meaning of the transmission of faith. The latter consists in "living" because faith "should not be transmitted to convince, but to offer a treasure". In short, it must be "lived with open, transparent doors" so that "people can receive the message that will save them".

But the first thought of Francesco in this new pandemic day is for the funeral services operators: "what they do is so painful and sad; they feel the pain of the pandemic up close". Then, after reading the gospel according to Mark, Bergoglio remembers the first of the four evangelists and invites to read his "so simple" work. The last chapter collects the narrative of the "leave of the Lord" which rises to heaven to the right of the Father after entrusting the apostles with the task of preaching and missionary work.

"Faith", Bergoglio explains, "is either missionary, or it is not faith". In fact, the conception of a "faith only for me is Gnostic heresy", while faith "is transmitted, offered, above all with testimony". At this point, the Pope quotes the consideration of a "parish priest of a European city" according to which the crisis of faith in the Old Continent depends on the lack of faith experienced by the Catholics who live there. And this is because "at the root there is no conviction", one is "Catholics as if it were a social and cultural attitude, a given of the identity card" that classifies your conscience and thus silences you.

Instead "faith is not quiet, it must come out of you. Faith is social, for everyone". It is "to show the Revelation" by bearing witness with the service: "if I say that I am a Christian and live not as a Christian, people do not come close. If I say that I am a Christian and live as a Christian, this attracts".

"The last thing I have to do is say. Then start living without proclaiming. The danger is otherwise of ending up in corruption."
