Loans to save Air France and possibly Renault

Friday evening, the Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire announced "to provide historic support to Air France of 7 billion euros", via two types of loans. "It will be 4 billion euros in state guaranteed loans provided by banks and 3 billion euros in direct loans by the state." This support "is not a blank check," said Bruno the Mayor.

"We have set conditions for Air France. Conditions for profitability because it is French money so Air France must make an effort to be more profitable, and ecological conditions. Air France must become the airline the most environmentally friendly on the planet. This is the condition I am most attached to, "he said. Bruno Le Maire also announced that the State is working "on a loan of 5 billion euros" for Renault. Financial support which he qualified as "massive" in a "historic" context. "I want every entrepreneur to know that the state will be by their side."
