On April 24, local time, the US Navy stated that 18 crew members tested positive for the new coronavirus on the USS Kidd destroyer on patrol in the Caribbean.

  The US Navy stated in a statement that a crew member of the Kidd was infected with the new coronavirus. The crew is currently in a relatively stable situation. After the first crew member was diagnosed, the Navy sent a medical team to board the ship to track and detect the contact personnel. As of now, another 17 people have been found to be infected.

  At present, testing is continuing, and it is expected that there will be other people among the crew members also infected. The US Navy is taking all measures to prevent the epidemic from spreading further.

  Normally, there are about 300 soldiers on this destroyer performing missions in the Caribbean Sea.
