The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation issued a circular to reduce the working hours of all workers in the private sector facilities in the country, during the holy month of Ramadan, to six hours instead of eight per day, while the ministry stressed all work parties, the need to continue to adhere to taking precautionary and preventive measures and procedures within labor facilities, While maintaining a safe distance between the worker and his colleague, so that they are not less than two meters, to protect from infection with the "emerging corona virus".

In detail, the Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, issued a ministerial circular to reduce the normal working hours for all workers in private sector establishments in the state, during the holy month of Ramadan 1441 AH, by two hours per day throughout the holy month, thus reducing the number of hours worked Eight hours to six.

The circular - which comes in implementation of Federal Law No. (8) of 1980 in the matter of regulating labor relations - stressed the need for establishments to take into account the application of precautionary measures and preventive measures applied in the country to protect workers and those dealing with it from the emerging Corona virus.

The Ministry reiterated the need for facilities to take into account the reduction of the percentage of customers in service delivery centers, by not more than 30% of the capacity, and to apply health controls, including determining sufficient distances between dealers, and sterilizing devices and facilities continuously.

According to the ministry, the precautionary and preventive measures that must be provided to protect workers from the risks of infection with the Corona virus include the need for private sector facilities to provide check points at their entrances, in which temperature measurements are taken, and questions about the symptoms of the virus daily, in two periods, in the morning before Departure to the workplace, evening after returning from it, and exempting suspected cases from leaving for work or entering the residence, while referring them to health facilities to take the necessary measures.

The Ministry stressed the need for establishments to take into account the establishment of a mechanism for organizing travel trips from labor housing to work areas and vice versa, with workers not within the means of transportation exceeding 25% of their capacity, stressing the need to adhere to a safe distance between workers, with a minimum of two meters, as well as Prevent gatherings, reduce the number of workers at the time of Iftar and Suhoor in labor accommodation, while applying the mechanism of safe spacing in places to eat.

The State was keen to activate a number of strict precautionary measures, which are in line with the best standards applied globally, especially at the level of labor cities and industrial areas, to prevent the virus, most notably the provision of Abu Dhabi inspection centers for workers in industrial areas in the Mussafah region, by establishing two inspection centers for the category of workers, While the Permanent Committee for Workers Affairs in Dubai issued a guide, which includes preventive measures to combat the "Corona" virus for workers, drivers and workers' housing supervisors, it was distributed to 500 companies in Dubai, to ensure their health and safety.

The guide comes within a package of wide-ranging awareness-raising initiatives and campaigns implemented by the committee, on ways of prevention and protection to be followed to combat the "Covid-19" virus, targeting companies throughout the emirate of Dubai, workers' accommodations and workplaces.
