24 April 2020 296,296 swabs have so far been made in Veneto, 9,500 more than the day before. The positives are 17,229, 348 more. There are 1,289 hospitalized patients, 40 fewer, of whom 130 in intensive care (minus 10). 2,372 have been discharged, 56 more than yesterday. There are 1,026 deaths in hospital, while 1,244 in total. The births are 93.

The data were revealed by the governor of Veneto Luca Zaia, during the daily press conference on the Coronavirus emergency from the headquarters of the Civil Protection of Marghera.

"Yesterday we had a videoconference with fellow regional presidents in which a document to be presented for phase 2 was discussed. I hope that we will go in the direction of opening everything that can be considered openable. There is the will to do all this with the scientific community at your side and respectful of the guidelines for the safety of workers and the community ". Said the governor of Veneto.

"I sign a new ordinance, I want to scrape the bottom of the barrel": the governor of Veneto announces it. The Veneto anticipates, with a new order signed today by the governor Luca Zaia, some exceptions to the restrictions on trade: the go-ahead is given in the region to the sale of take-away food in take-aways, pastry shops and ice cream parlors - until now only home delivery was possible - keeping the ban on consumption inside the premises.

Shopkeepers and customers must have masks and gloves, and respect the distance of one meter. Another easing concerns the openings of bookstores, stationery stores and children's clothing stores, for which the limit of two days a week is no longer valid. "We have scraped the barrel - Zaia said - by removing all that could be done as far as is allowed by law. But let's be clear, it's not the free everyone".
