SVT has in a survey (LÄNK) asked all the country's regions whether the health care staff will be able to take a holiday in the period June to August. The Västra Götaland region responds that: "At the moment, there is full focus on being able to secure the availability of staff to handle the current Covid-19 situation."

When asked if doctors and nurses will be able to get their vacation, they answer:

"We do not yet know how it will be, we follow the situation from day to day."

More negotiations await

But four weeks of vacation from June to August is a statutory right, so now it is up to each employer to negotiate with the unions. On Monday, negotiations between Sweden's Municipalities and the County Council, SKR, and the big unions, the Medical Association, the Medical Association and the Municipal Council, were stranded. The bid from SKR was that the members would receive a total of SEK 15,000 in compensation for moving two holiday weeks to the end of December.

"Skambud"

- The negotiations started with a bang. We received a very poor offer, less than we received in recent years if we moved a week to September or October. Sham buddies, say the members and are very disappointed, says Anne Karin Höglund, Health Care Association's department chair for Västra Götaland.

Even ambulance nurse Nicklas Martinsson thinks it was a far too bad bid from a central point.

- It's worse than we were offered last year, when we received SEK 8000 per moved week, so that's not relevant, he says.

"Should be preceded by negotiation"

Regarding Sahlgrenka's proposal to move weeks to September, the Group office replies:

“In some businesses, the main holiday is being considered for September as well. Before deciding to place the main holiday at a time other than June-August, it must be preceded by negotiation with the trade unions. "
