Saudi human rights activists and opponents have announced the death of the detainee, Dr. Abdullah Al-Hamed, who is called "Sheikh of Jurists" in Saudi Arabia, as a result of medical negligence.

"We belong to God and to Him we shall return ... Dr. Abu Bilal Abdullah Al-Hamid died this morning in prison, as a result of the deliberate health negligence that led him to a stroke that killed his life," the Saudi account of the "prisoners of conscience" wrote on Twitter.

He added that Al-Hamid’s death in prison “is not a normal thing, as it is a deliberate assassination carried out by the Saudi authorities after the prison administration left him in a coma several hours before being transferred to the hospital.”

The opinion detainees' account stated that "silence on this crime may cause the death of other free detainees."

Saudi authorities arrested Dr. Abdullah Al-Hamid, one of the founders of the “reform” reform project in the kingdom, in March 2013, and sentenced him to 11 years in prison, without explaining the reasons for the ruling.

A week ago, the human rights organization, Al-Qustat, published several statements confirming that Al-Hamid was transferred to the intensive care unit while in a serious condition, after he suffered a stroke and was in a coma due to the authorities neglecting his health.

The organization stressed at the time that Al-Hamid had been suffering from a deteriorating health situation for more than three months, and the authorities did not accept his release despite his age of seventy.

And human rights activist Yahya Asiri confirmed the news of the death of Al-Hamid, one of the most prominent figures calling for reform in the kingdom.

The dissident Saeed bin Nasser Al-Ghamdi indicated that he will be prayed on Al-Hamid and buried in the city of Buraidah this afternoon.

And he posted a new account on Twitter called "The Martyr Abdullah Al-Hamid", the site of Al-Qusayia Cemetery, where his body is supposed to be hidden.

We ask God to accept Dr. Abdullah Al-Hamid as a martyr after he passed away in the prison of the tyrant. Perhaps he would write to him the reward for the word of truth with the unfair Sultan of

Abu Bilal’s patience, Saber and a link in fighting injustice, corruption and tyranny over a period of thirty years and suffered a lot between losing a job and repeating the prison Until God passed away
