Sävsjö Municipality expects the children to move into the new preschool in January next year. The preschool will have four departments as well as a cooking kitchen where food can be prepared for all preschools in the municipality.

Fifteen teachers and four chefs will now be recruited.

- There is also an opportunity to expand this preschool with two more departments, then you do it altogether, says Stefan Claesson, Head of Administration of Children and Education in Sävsjö Municipality.

Non-toxic preschool

All toys in the new preschool must be non-toxic. The municipality is working to ensure that the other preschools will also be poison-free.

- It is extremely important that the interior is non-toxic, we work to make this the climate-smart school as a profile in Sävsjö, says Stefan Claesson.

Why is it so important to have a new preschool?

- The municipality has grown, we feel we need to expand and we want to be attractive. We need to make sure that all children get a place in preschool, there has been pressure on preschools, says Stefan Claesson.

In the clip below, a preschool in Vaggeryd shows how they work with a non-toxic environment.
