Pay weekend, sun and warm weather. As spring looked ahead, some businesses and individuals began to tune in to the corona guidelines.

At a press conference on Friday, therefore, Interior Minister Mikael Damberg announced that all Sweden's municipalities will report increased inspections of cafes, taverns and restaurants. He also urges the public to advise on activities that violate the guidelines.

- Everyone has a responsibility. It is how we act today that determines how health care will do its job in two weeks, he says and continues:

- We've been through Easter. Now it is a holiday weekend and several holidays and long weekends are ahead of us. Many have handled the situation well and set up trips, but we do not see any clear decline yet.

"Starting to relax"

The government's new regulations come after several reports of congestion on outdoor seating in, among other places, Stockholm. Finance Citizen Council Anna König Jerlmyr (M) warns disobedient restaurants and recalls that the corona virus is the city's biggest challenge in modern times.

- The taverns that do not care will have to close down. It is a confidence one has been able to keep open, unlike it is in other European cities.

Jerlmyr also says that checks will be done at all times of the day.

- We get reports that Stockholmers are starting to relax, but the restrictions are not just general tips, but they should be followed by everyone always.

Have been warned before

Already on Thursday, the region appealed to the Stockholmers to continue to keep their distance after reports of congestion in cafes and outdoor restaurants. The Financial Region Council Irene Svenonius (M) then warned that carelessness could lead to the curves lightning up again.

Per Follin, infection control physician in the region, also emphasized the seriousness of Friday's meeting.

- It's not over, it's no relief. Keep your distance and limit the spread of infection, and we hope that it will be over soon.
