In the last 24 hours, 155 new patients in serious condition have been admitted to French hospitals, announced, in his daily update on the Covid-19 pandemic, the director general of health, Jérôme Salomon, welcoming "a slow decline but regular ".

The number of new people who died on the territory amounted to 389; a figure well below the previous assessment which amounted to 516 dead.

However, Jérôme Salomon said that the "circulation of the virus remained high", and described the epidemic in France as "massive and severe".

In total, more than 28,000 people are hospitalized today in France, 4,870 patients require intensive care and 22,245 deaths have been reported on the territory since the beginning of the crisis.
