The chairman of the Keolis executive board, Patrick Jeantet, reports that the leading public transport company recommends wearing a mandatory mask during the deconfinement period. It is, for him, the best solution to limit the risks of spread of the coronavirus.

The increase in traffic from May 11 must be accompanied by important hygiene measures for Keolis. The company is the leader in public transport in France. The president of his board, Patrick Jeantet, "recommends the wearing of the mandatory mask in public transport" on Europe 1, Friday.

No mask, no transport Keolis request

Transport operators are preparing a major re-increase in their system during deconfinement. This is the case of the RATP which intends to drop from 30 to 70% of its usual traffic rate. Patrick Jeantet wants to be anticipative in the face of the risks of spread of the coronavirus that this increase represents. For him, the rule must be strict: "People who do not have masks do not get on transport."

CORONAVIRUS ESSENTIALS

> Can France hope for a more favorable scenario than Italy?

> Are women and people with blood type O more resistant?

> Are certain serious forms linked to a genetic factor?

> How will the distribution of masks take place in France?

> Back to school on May 11: under what conditions?

> How to keep sleep during confinement?

This measure is necessary, according to the chairman of the executive board because, "if there are two or three who do not have the mask, it is much less effective." Patrick Jeantet considers that this obligation should, beyond transport, extend to "all public areas". He considers that "the mask is the best barrier. It is a measure of common sense, everyone must have the mask".
