It is known that the social networking company Facebook is following all the activities of users to serve it, but that what many may be ignorant of is also following the activities of users outside Facebook, but amid large protests and pressures the company was forced by the end of last January to launch a feature that stops its ability to track users outside of Facebook . How does this feature work? How can it be activated to prevent the company from following you?
The Facebook Off-Facebook Activity feature scans Facebook's information about your outside activity during the past 180 days, which Facebook obtains through its advertising partnerships with third-party apps and websites, which voluntarily informs Facebook of the identities of the people who visit it .
To clear your browsing history (outside of Facebook), and to disable tracking entirely or partially, just follow these steps:
Go to Facebook settings and choose (your Facebook information)
Under your information on Facebook select (Disable Facebook Activities)
Facebook will show you how to track you outside the platform
A panel will appear showing the sites and applications that Facebook knows you have visited. If you click on one of the sites, you will be presented with a list of activities that you have performed on this site:
You can delete these activities from Facebook memory by clicking the (Clear History) button
To stop this tracking permanently, you can click on (Manage Facebook Stop Activity Tracking)
By withdrawing the button to stop tracking your activities, Facebook will stop saving your activity on these sites, but this will not prevent these sites from sending your information to Facebook.
On August 20, 2019, Facebook announced the launch of this feature, although it might harm the company itself in terms of its ability to target users with ads. Zuckerberg, who pledged in 2018 to build a "clear history" tool for network users.
