Between March 15 and June 20 last year, foreign tourists traded an average of eight million a day in the county. Now that, in principle, all global travel has ceased during the corona pandemic, all consumption from foreign guests, called tourism exports, is also falling away.

In total, this amounts to SEK 742 million, which can be lost until midsummer, which is as much as the foreign tourists spent in Västerbotten during the same period last year.

In total, in Sweden, this could be a loss of SEK 36 billion if the current situation persists throughout the period, according to the Chamber of Commerce.
