Other exemptions include, in addition to medical personnel needed to combat the coronavirus epidemic, the wives and children of American citizens and other categories of foreigners. The order also provides for a review of the temporary work permit programs "to assess whether additional measures will be needed to protect American workers." The White House, citing a USA Today-Ipsos survey, underlines how 80% of Americans are in favor of a temporary stop to immigration to the United States and how, according to a Pew research, 81% of citizens consider l mass immigration a threat.
