  China Mobile's unaudited financial report data shows that revenue in the first quarter was 181.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2%; of which, communications service revenue was 168.9 billion yuan, an increase of 1.8% from the same period last year. Net profit was 23.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.8%.

  In the first quarter, China Unicom's revenue was 73.824 billion yuan, of which service revenue was 68.307 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.3%. Net profit was 3.166 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 13.9%, but the increase in the previous quarter was 110.1%.

  China Telecom's revenue in the first quarter was 94.793 billion yuan, of which service revenue was 92.137 billion yuan, an increase of 0.7% over the same period last year. Net profit was 5.822 billion yuan, a decrease of 2.2% over the same period last year.

  According to calculations, in the first quarter, the three major operators had a net profit of 32.488 billion yuan, with an average daily profit of about 357 million yuan. This data lost to the first quarter of last year, when the three major operators made an average of 370 million yuan a day.

More than 50 million 5G package users

  In terms of the number of users, data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology show that as of the end of March, the total number of users of the three major operators reached 1.59 billion, with 9.62 million new users in March. 4G subscribers (1.28 billion subscribers) accounted for 80.2% of the total number of mobile phone subscribers, an increase of 0.3% compared with the end of February.

  The number of China Mobile users reached 946 million, of which 752 million were 4G users, and the total number of 5G package customers reached 31.72 million.

  The number of users of China Unicom reached 311 million, of which 255 million were 4G users. Compared with February, the number of China Unicom users decreased by 7.47 million. China Unicom did not separately announce the number of 5G users.

  China Telecom's mobile user base reached 337 million, of which the number of 5G package users was about 16.61 million, a net increase of 12 million. Calculated in this way, China Mobile and China Telecom have more than 48 million 5G package subscribers.

  On the 23rd, at a press conference held by the State Council Office, Wen Ku, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the director of the Information and Communication Development Department, said that as of the end of March, 198,000 5G base stations had been built nationwide, with more than 50 million package users.
