A surprising discovery, 1.70 m long and 60 cm in diameter. Wednesday afternoon in Saint-Nazaire, workers fell on an explosive device while they were working on a construction site, near the port, police reports. Their trenching work on the future assembly site for offshore wind turbines was interrupted after this object, which looked like a World War II shell, was dug up by the backhoe loader.

A security perimeter has been set up to allow the intervention of a demining team. Checks made, it would be an American bomb of about a ton, reports the newspaper Ouest-France . Its trigger system was no longer operational. The object was evacuated this Thursday.
