Scientists' recommendation

The General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars in Saudi Arabia recommended last Sunday the general Muslims to pray the obligatory prayers and Taraweeh during the month of Ramadan in their homes, if it was recommended by the competent authorities in their countries or the countries in which they reside.

On Sunday, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted a press release by the authority stressing that full care must be taken with the decisions of the competent authorities in those countries, which aim to preserve public health and reduce the spread of the Corona epidemic.

She called for Muslims to avoid gatherings because they are considered the main cause of the spread of infection, according to the relevant medical reports, including iftar and group magic.

The commission called on Muslims to pay zakat within the frameworks that do not contradict the recommendations of the competent authorities in preventing congestion, gatherings and other means of transmission.

Modify curfew times

On the other hand, the official news agency quoted a source in the Ministry of the Interior (unnamed) Tuesday evening as a decision to amend the times during which it is allowed to roam during Ramadan.

The decision included permitting wandering in all regions and cities, whether subject to the ban or not, from 9 am (7:00 GMT) until 5 pm (15:00 GMT).

The decision stipulated that roaming in areas where a total ban is applied "within the scope of the residential neighborhood in which they reside, and limiting movement by car to one person, in addition to the driver of the vehicle," according to the same source.

On April 6, the Saudi Ministry of Interior announced a 24-hour curfew in a number of major cities, in a measure to combat the virus.
