April 22, 2020 In the United States, there are at least 826,248 cases and 45,638 deaths from coronavirus. This is what emerges from the data aggregator of Johns Hopkins University. The total includes cases from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories, as well as cases involving repatriated citizens.

Cuomo: 474 deaths in the past 24 hours in New York State. Falling deaths 
In the past 24 hours, 474 deaths have been reported from Covid-19 in New York State. The governor, Andrew Cuomo, said this in the usual daily press conference. The total number of deaths linked to the disease thus rises to at least 15,302. Admissions are 1,308, down on the fourth day in a row. Yesterday, 481 people had died and the day before, 478. The governor added that New York, together with New Jersey and Connecticut, is about to launch a contact tracking program.

"This is no time to act stupid"
"We can't make a wrong decision. Frankly, it's not the time to act stupidly, period. I don't know how else to say it." Words of the Governor of New York State, in a press conference, asked about the restart of the States. Cuomo said he understood that local authorities could feel the political pressure to restart the economy, but said that a premature reopening would cancel the progress made to flatten the curve; the governor then advised communities that have not been hit hard by the coronavirus to keep certain restrictions in place, because a second wave could "knock you out."
