Residents of Moscow with symptoms of SARS are required to observe quarantine in the same way as people with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19. This is stated in the decree of Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

Citizens with suspected coronavirus can use transport only to visit the hospital with a digital pass, the decree says.

“From April 22, citizens suspected of having a new coronavirus infection (2019-nCoV), as well as citizens with manifestations of an acute respiratory viral infection and other acute respiratory infections, observe a self-isolation regimen at home similar to that used for citizens with a new coronavirus infection ( 2019-nCoV). In order to monitor compliance with the regime of self-isolation at home ... apply the technology of electronic monitoring of a citizen’s location in a certain geolocation, including using technical devices and (or) software, ”RIA Novosti quotes the text of the decree.

The measure also applies to citizens living with SARS. However, they can still go to the nearest store or pharmacy.

In addition, the mayor’s decree permits the movement of freight vehicles in Moscow without digital passes at night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. In addition, notaries are excluded from the list of organizations whose work in Moscow was suspended due to the spread of COVID-19.

The number of people infected with coronavirus infection in Russia per day increased by 5642, of which 3083 in Moscow. This was announced by the operational headquarters to combat the spread of the disease.

The number of survivors is 3873. Since the onset of the pandemic, 456 people with confirmed coronavirus have died.

In addition to Moscow, the largest number of cases of COVID-19 infection were recorded in the Moscow Region (718), St. Petersburg (127) and Nizhny Novgorod Region (101).

Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin communicates daily with experts to keep abreast of changes in the epidemiological situation.

On April 20, Putin held a video meeting in which leading virologists, infectious disease specialists, and heads of research centers took part. The head of state noted that the situation with COVID-19 in Russia remains difficult, the number of infected people is growing in all regions. Nonetheless, he indicated that overall it was possible to slow the spread of infection. At the same time, he emphasized that, according to experts, the peak incidence rate in the Russian Federation is yet to come.

“You heard the points of view of experts. Someone said that we must now open schools. Someone said that we must now go out into the street. Someone, on the contrary, said that this would be an unforgivable risk. Experts are all authoritative, all knowledgeable, all talented, but they have different points of view. All these points of view are taken into account by management when making decisions, ”said Peskov.

Also, Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with the Governor of Primorye Oleg Kozhemyako, expressed the hope that additional beds and equipment for the treatment of patients with coronavirus would not be needed, but indicated the need to create such a reserve.

“We understand that this may not be necessary, God forbid, that it will not be required, but it should be available,” the head of state emphasized.

Meanwhile, Rospotrebnadzor noted that the situation with influenza and SARS in Moscow is calm. The department said that over the past 4 weeks the number of cases has decreased by 2.5 times.

They added that in connection with suspected coronavirus in Russia, nearly 140 thousand people are under medical supervision.

In turn, the representative of the information center for monitoring the situation with the coronavirus, Alexander Myasnikov, spoke about the process of creating the vaccine.

“By May 31, specialists plan to complete the full range of preclinical studies and switch to clinical trials on the first day of summer,” he said on the Russia 24 television channel.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, said that the deployment of a medical network to combat coronavirus in the regions of the Russian Federation was taking place according to the “paramilitary scenario”. He added that more than 1.2 million health workers have been trained to fight COVID-19, as any doctor may encounter a patient infected with coronavirus.
