While the French have been living confined for five weeks, as part of the fight against Covid-19, and domestic violence has significantly increased during this period, Marlène Schiappa, Secretary of State for Equality between Women and men returns to the alert system put in place by the government in an attempt to remedy it.

"Women are confined with the man who is violent, in the case of domestic violence, it is therefore more difficult for them to appeal for help," said Marlène Schiappa in an interview with France 24 .

"With the government, we have multiplied the alert possibilities: by opening the alerts for the police by sms at number 114 - so without speaking -, by opening the possibility of launching the alert in pharmacies" or again through "listening and support spaces for women in shopping centers that remain open".
