“The investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tatarstan have opened a criminal case against the 49-year-old rector of the Kazan National Research Technological University. He is suspected of committing crimes under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of Russia (“Fraud”), part 2 of article 292 of the Criminal Code of Russia (“Official forgery”), ”the regional administration of the UK said in a statement.

According to investigators, in 2004-2017 he was a suspect, computer graphics, as well as dean of the faculty of "Innovative Technologies" KNITU.

It is established that in fact this dean’s office did not exist. The investigation believes that the suspect illegally received wages in the amount of at least 1 million rubles.

In January, it was reported that the rector of Tver State Medical University, Lesya Chichanovskaya, was temporarily suspended from office due to abuse of power.
