"We can confirm that we found a body damaged by fire," says Stefan Dangardt, press officer at the police, the Bergslagen region.

A forensic autopsy will now be conducted to determine the cause of death.

One person was found deceased after the fire. One woman was now injured and taken care of at Uppsala Academic University Hospital.

Technical examination

During the day, police forensics investigated the fire scene and a so-called fire-hardening dog, which among other things searches for traces of flammable liquids, has searched what is left of the house.

"The technical investigation is still ongoing, it is too early to say anything about the cause of the fire," says Lisa Lindberg, interim investigator at the Avesta police.

One person is then arrested on Sunday for probable cause for murder, attempted murder and serious murder.
