- The National Board of Health and Welfare has developed a web tool that the municipalities will use and fill in their need for protective equipment. We are in the process of developing our own template for the municipalities to fill in how much protective equipment and equipment you have, says county council Daniel Gustafsson.

Shortages are distributed among municipalities

Last week, there was a municipality that had a lack of protective masks and received from another municipality. The intention is that the county administrative boards should keep track of where the greatest need is and how shortages should be distributed among the municipalities.

- We will get this picture every week from the municipalities. Then we will come up with proposals for a possible distribution, says Daniel Gustafsson.

The good will of the municipalities

It is very much about the goodwill of the municipalities to help each other.

"We will not be able to decide on distribution, but it is up to the municipalities themselves if they want to comply with this recommendation," says Daniel Gustafsson.

Long-term view of purchasing

The lack of protective equipment for health and care personnel is great throughout the country. To get a general picture of the situation two weeks ago, the county administrative boards were given an assignment by the government. They will help the National Board of Health to coordinate the municipalities' situation pictures and needs for protective equipment and medical material. If all municipalities have a lack of protective equipment, the county administrative boards should contact the National Board of Health and Welfare.

- Then we hope that the National Board of Social Services has something to distribute. If it is not, then we need to have a long-term picture of what the purchase of protective equipment and equipment looks like. How do we ensure that there is protective equipment that we need in the county? says Daniel Gustafsson.
