The investigation team will follow the principles of seeking truth from facts, being objective and fair, and having consistent powers and responsibilities, thoroughly investigate the process of the incident, confirm the nature of the incident, put forward suggestions for prevention and rectification measures and handling opinions, and effectively strengthen environmental risk prevention and control. The investigation report will be made public.

  The article stated that Yichun Luming Mining's "3.28" tailings pond leakage accident was the second largest sudden environmental incident in China in the past 20 years with the largest amount of tailings leakage, the most difficult emergency disposal, and the unusually difficult task of ecological environment governance and repair in the later period. After the accident, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment sent a working group to the scene as soon as possible to quickly carry out emergency response work with the local authorities. After 14 days of on-site emergency treatment, at 3 a.m. on April 11, the accidental sewage sludge reached the standard approximately 70 kilometers away from the Songhua River, achieving the goal of "not allowing excessive sewage to enter the Songhua River". At present, the entire Hulan River has been basically cleared.
