As the text of the appeal says, the transition of school education to a distance format in connection with the spread of coronavirus showed that not all students and teachers were prepared for online learning. In particular, it is difficult for teachers to transfer the curriculum online, it is not always possible to master certain technical skills.

In this regard, the Institute for Progressive Education considers it necessary to organize advanced training courses on online teaching for existing teachers, and for future teachers to introduce additional disciplines on distance work in pedagogical universities.

It is proposed, in particular, to consider the possibility of introducing into the curriculum of students such disciplines as “Methods of distance teaching”, “Computerization of a modern lesson” and “Gamification for a teacher”.

“We believe that the proposals voiced can serve as an incentive for the development of a unified methodology for building up digital competencies by the Russian school, addressed both to the current staff of the industry and to future teachers,” the text of the appeal says.

Earlier, the State Duma proposed creating “digital classes” in Russia for computer science teachers, so that teachers improve their skills and modernize teaching methods.
