On the political issue, Abbas warned the American and Israeli governments against embarking on annexing any part of the Palestinian territories, and he said: “Although we are busy dealing with the Corona virus, this did not distract us from our main concern, which is ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital. In addition, a Palestinian Health Ministry official said yesterday that seven new cases of Coronavirus were recorded in the Palestinian territories, including two in the Gaza Strip, bringing the total to 449, including in Jerusalem.
