The Uber platform, which in addition to ordering from restaurants has also delivered groceries since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, will further expand its services to also transport packages and personal items.

Over the past month, "we've seen people around the world looking for new ways to get products delivered to their doorstep quickly, and companies looking to better serve their customers from afar," Uber says in a post. blog posted late Sunday.

"This is why we are expanding our delivery efforts beyond food and groceries, to offer on-demand and consumer delivery solutions," added the company.

In Portugal, it partnered with the postal services to deliver its packages, while in South Africa, Uber delivered medicines to those who are most vulnerable to Covid-19 as part of a partnership with the local health authorities and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
