The Minister of State for Higher Education Affairs and Advanced Skills, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al-Falasi, stated that the Ministry has defined five programs to monitor student performance during the testing period and submit projects, with the aim of verifying the performance of each student's test and project himself without anyone else interfering in its achievement, pointing out that assessment is mandatory for students All, and the Ministry has identified several options for evaluating students in front of higher education institutions, which are free to choose from these mechanisms to evaluate their students.

He added during a remote press conference yesterday, that among the test methods is an "open book" system, and the university professor can determine the level of the real student by comparing his results with what is included in his file that monitors his performance during the past years.

He stressed that there is great flexibility on the part of higher education institutions through the commitment to grant students the traditional evaluation represented in grades A, B, C and D while preserving their right to accept this evaluation and enter it in the basic evaluation or not to accept this evaluation because of not adapting to the e-learning system remotely or The evaluation does not reflect the academic level of students.

And in the event that the evaluation is not accepted, the student has the right to choose a successful or failed evaluation, indicating that the student's withdrawal period from the major he is studying has been extended until the last week of the current school year.

He added that the Ministry conducted a field survey of the materials that were converted to electronic, to determine the application of distance education as required and that achieves educational goals, following: “The Ministry is conducting an evaluation of the electronic side implemented by universities.”

On vocational training, Al-Falasi said: “The Ministry has taken several measures in the field of vocational training for the benefit of the student and the professional cadre in universities, and we have formed a team for each major to ensure the implementation of vocational training remotely”, indicating that some students postponed vocational training eligible for graduation.

He explained that, according to the legislation, the Ministry allowed universities to convert to electronic, either by 25% or 100% without referring to them.

He referred to the coordination between "general education" and "higher education" regarding the acceptance of "secondary" graduates in universities, in light of the cancellation of international tests this year, and the postponement of national exams "IMSAT".

He emphasized that what the UAE has achieved in the field of distance education comes as a result of the state’s efforts in investing in the future and technology, as the state made a decision to offer a two-week spring vacation in order to qualify the academic and technical staff to switch to distance education, and the experience was distinct, especially in higher education because Students at this level of education are more mature.

Al-Falasi clarified that in the context of reducing the burdens on students during the current situation in light of the implementation of the distance education system, higher education institutions in the country are committed to exempting students from academic warnings, placing them under supervision and dismissing them, in addition to the commitment not to deprive students of entering the final exam during the application period .

He pointed out that coordination will be ensured to ensure the commitment of higher education institutions in the state to offer some of their courses in a minimum of two distance for Emirati school students to prepare them to join higher education institutions next academic year, indicating that the most important challenge facing institutions and students is the implementation of the distance education system for the first time Completely in the country, what resulted in many challenges that required finding practical solutions that take into account the current circumstances.
