FSB officers detained a teenager in Krasnoyarsk who was planning to carry out an armed attack on the school. 

“The federal security service of the Russian Federation detained a resident of the city of Krasnoyarsk, born in 2006, who was preparing an armed attack on the school,” the FSB Public Relations Center said.

Law enforcement officers searched the house of the detainee. They managed to find and seize a shotgun of a hunting rifle with cartridges, as well as four objects with the inscription "Exodus", similar to improvised explosive devices.  

“For execution at school,” the detained teenager said in response to a question about why he planned to use these devices. 

In the video, FSB representatives show that inside the alleged IEDs there is a green powder resembling gunpowder.

During the search, the detainee was also found communications and personal diaries containing information about the planned crime.

“Based on the results of expert examinations of weapons, ammunition, other items and documents, an appropriate procedural decision will be made regarding the detainee,” the FSB explained.

Investigators filed several cases against the teenager, including preparations for the attack.

“The teenager is suspected of committing crimes under Part 1 of Art. 30, part 1, article 205 of the Criminal Code (preparation for a terrorist act), Art. 205.3 of the Criminal Code (training for terrorist activities) and Art. 223.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal manufacture of explosive devices), ”the statement reads on the website of the main investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia.

According to the preliminary version of the investigation, in January 2020, the teenager began planning a terrorist attack in Krasnoyarsk. The attack was supposed to happen in April 2020.

According to the UK, the teenager planned to use improvised explosive devices and a shotgun for a hunting rifle. On the Internet, a teenager found instructions for the manufacture of explosive devices, studied their design and manufactured, and then hid them in a building in the courtyard belonging to his father, they added to the Investigative Committee.

“The allegedly improvised explosive devices and a cutter for a 16-caliber hunting rifle and 19 rounds of ammunition were seized by operational officers of the FSB Directorate for the Krasnoyarsk Territory,” the department said.

Attack Averted 

Another attempt at an armed attack on the school was prevented on Sakhalin. There, in late March, the FSB detained two students.

During the search, they found weapons, ammunition, an industrial detonator, allegedly improvised explosive devices and explosives. In addition, as in the case in Krasnoyarsk, personal diaries were taken from the detainees, which told about the planned attack. 

According to the FSB, young people born in 2002 and 2003 were also involved in “propaganda on the Internet of terrorism, mass killings and suicide”.

In relation to the detainees, the FSB opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Public calls for terrorist activities").

In late February, FSB officers detained two teenagers born in 2005 in Saratov who planned to attack the school in May 2020. 

Teenagers created a cache on the territory of an abandoned bomb shelter, where they hidden a sawn-off shotgun of a hunting rifle. There they were detained by law enforcement officers.

During interrogation, one of the teenagers stated that they planned to kill at least 40 people.

"I do not care. Igor (one of the detainees. -  RT ) counted on about 40 people, ”the teenager said in a video published by the FSB about the number of planned victims.

The FSB reported that the detainees were in online communities promoting massacres and suicide.

“It was established that during the attack, in addition to firearms, the attackers also planned to use home-made incendiary mixtures, the manufacturing instructions for which they found on the Internet,” the Federal Security Service said in a statement.

The Investigative Committee of the Saratov Region opened a criminal case on the preparation of the murder of several people by a group of persons by prior conspiracy.
