An accountant by training, Danièle Hoffman-Rispal, who joined the PS in 1974, was elected as a member of Parliament in June 2002 against the outgoing Georges Sarre (MRC) in the 6th district of Paris. Reelected hands down in 2007 with 69% of the vote, she was forced to give up her place five years later to Cécile Duflot of which she will be the deputy to the legislative elections of June 2012, following a PS-EELV agreement.

The environmental leader becoming minister, Danièle Hoffman-Rispal had found her seat at the Palais Bourbon from July 2012 to May 2014, the date on which Cécile Duflot had left the government.
