The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said that the Palestinian resistance has strong cards that will force the occupation leaders to complete a prisoner exchange deal according to the terms of the resistance.

The leader of the movement, Mushir al-Masri, affirmed during a stand in solidarity with the prisoners that Hamas is ready once again to reach a deal that he described as a supervisor.

Hamas has four Israelis: the two soldiers, Shaul Aaron and Hadar Golden, who were captured by Hamas in the war that broke out in the summer of 2014, and while Israel says they were killed, Hamas does not give any information about their status.

Hamas is also holding Abraham Mengistu and Hashem Badawi Al-Sayyid, who hold Israeli citizenship, the first Ethiopian and the second Arab, who entered Gaza voluntarily after the Gaza war at two different times.

For his part, a senior Israeli official said that there was a unique and rare opportunity on the horizon for a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas.

"We are facing a unique and rare opportunity" to reach a prisoners' deal with Hamas, the private 13th Israeli news channel quoted the Israeli official, whose name was not revealed, as saying.

He added that the Israeli army would return the bodies of two soldiers, Shaul Aaron and Hadar Goldin, in addition to the two civilians held by Hamas, that is, Mengistu and al-Sayed.

In this regard, the Israeli official said that there had been no such opportunity during the past six years, referring to the crisis of the Corona virus and the movement's need for a deal.

The last exchange between Israel and Hamas took place in the year 2011, when an Israeli soldier was exchanged for more than a thousand Palestinian prisoners, dozens of them with life sentences.

Information and data
According to Deutsche Presse-Agentur, it appears that Hamas is ready to provide information on the status of the soldiers and whether they are alive, and this may include information on the health status of Mengistu and the master and the release of either or one of them, depending on the price that Israel will pay.

The sources said that the movement has a list of the names of those whom Israel should release as part of this deal, and that it has informed this to mediators who contacted them in order to understand what is required.

Official Palestinian data indicates that there are more than five thousand Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons.

Hamas says it is ready to enter indirect negotiations with Israel in order to conclude a new exchange deal, including the release of large numbers of prisoners.
