There are far fewer students taking a driving license than it usually was this year, says Annica Berggren. At her traffic school, she quickly trains drivers and the vast majority of customers come from Stockholm.

- Early August there are free times to book today and if they release any new time you must try to take it as soon as possible, says Annica Berggren and continues:

- Now you have to try to plan and spread out your driving so that you get a good education, but you may be done a little further than you initially thought, she says.

Missing rules for distance education

According to Olof Stenlund, adviser to the Swedish Transport Agency, the restrictions apply only to the compulsory parts of the theory education, all other theory education is fully possible to do in any way.

- The signals we received from the traffic schools are that they handle the situation today. At present, the regulations are not adapted to make distance education possible, says Olof Stenlund, adviser to the Swedish Transport Agency.

May be subject to change

But it may become possible with changes in driver's license training in the future, for the issue lies with the government containing proposals for a completely new driver education system.

- There are proposals to open up to make parts of the compulsory parts digitally, says Olof Stenlund.

But for those looking forward to a driver's license this summer, it doesn't look very bright.

- Most people think they should take a driver's license before the summer, and it is not possible today, says Annica Berggren.
