(Fighting against New Coronary Pneumonia) 74 cases imported in 10 days from the Chinese border town of Manzhouli: Efforts to ensure that "everything is normal"

China News Agency, Hohhot, April 16 (Reporter Zhang Wei) The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Health Committee issued a message on the 16th that as of April 16, at 7:00, Manzhouli, Inner Mongolia had accumulated 74 cases of imported new coronary pneumonia in 10 days. For 10 days, this small town on the Chinese border has worked hard to ensure that "everything is normal."

Manzhouli, located in northern China, borders Russia in the north and Mongolia in the west, and has the largest land port in China-Manzhouli Port. It is an important hub on the Eurasian land route and an important fulcrum of the China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor.

On April 6, Manzhouli Land Port first detected confirmed cases of entry from Russia, and within the next 10 days, the number of confirmed cases of entry increased to 74, accounting for more than 60% of the confirmed cases imported outside Inner Mongolia.

As the number of confirmed cases surged, the local China-Mongolia Hospital in Manzhouli was converted into a designated admission hospital. Hulunbeier, Chifeng, Xing'an League and other places have successively dispatched a medical team of more than 100 people to support the local new coronary pneumonia medical treatment and flow sampling.

According to news from the frontline headquarters of Manzhouli's overseas import disposal, in response to the pressure of epidemic prevention brought by overseas imports, Manzhouli City built a standby hospital on the basis of the former Zhamei Coal Company's employee hospital. At present, the building of the standby hospital is about to be completed, and the standby hospital will be put into use after the completion of the first and second phases of the project.

In order to deal with the surge in medical waste, the Manzhouli Medical Waste Treatment Center started a 24-hour working mode. The medical waste will be properly packaged and transported, and finally burned and destroyed to ensure that the medical waste is produced as soon as it is produced.

The sudden entry of the new coronary pneumonia epidemic at the port has brought great challenges to the port inspection and quarantine capabilities of this small border town and the isolation and detection capabilities of the Manzhouli urban area.

After the temporary closure of the Manchurian-Baikalsk highway port passenger transport corridor on April 8, border trade continued. The staff are dressed in white protective clothing and are waiting to ensure the normal operation of the China-Europe train. The Manzhouli China-Russia Mutual Trade Free Zone is only open to Zone A, and no more than 100 people are allowed to enter each day, including merchants.

The government of Manzhouli city official stated that Manzhouli recreated the prevention and control process of inbound freight drivers under the guidance of experts. At present, immigration drivers have been taken measures such as immediate isolation and testing. During the operation, personnel of the two countries are not allowed to have direct contact.

After the outbreak of the import epidemic, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Hulunbeier City's guidance team have rushed to Manzhouli, requesting the establishment of a multi-level, all-round prevention and control chain from "national to home" to ensure that imported cases do not affect the normal lives of residents.
