The head physician of the Moscow City Clinical Hospital No. 40, Denis Protsenko, summed up the interim results of the work of the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Kommunarka, which has become one of the main centers for treating patients with a new coronavirus infection COVID-19.

According to him, over a month and a half more than 1.6 thousand patients were admitted to the hospital, almost 69% of whom have already been discharged. “45 days of work in Kommunarka. 1659 patients. 1140 written out ... For these figures, of course, a lot ... Thanks to the team, ”wrote Protsenko.

He also thanked the staff of other departments of the hospital who were not involved in the fight against the spread of COVID-19: “Thanks to those who daily operate and treat cancer patients on Kasatkina and Medikov, take birth in Taimyrskaya and lead women in the ZhK”.

Protsenko also said that currently over 490 patients are undergoing treatment in Kommunarka. Two thirds of them confirmed coronavirus infection.

“There are 493 patients on treatment. Of these: with a diagnosis of pneumonia - 480, COVID positive - 328, ”Protsenko said, adding that 44 patients are in the intensive care unit and intensive care, 21 of them are connected to mechanical ventilation devices.

During the day, 52 people were admitted to the hospital in Kommunarka, 46 were discharged.

The day before, Protsenko himself said that he had recovered from coronavirus infection. About his disease COVID-19 became known on March 31, the disease was not severe. On April 15, the doctor wrote on his Facebook page that he had gone out of isolation after receiving two negative tests.

The chief doctor of the hospital in Kommunarka became the hero of several films by journalist Anton Krasovsky about the COVID-19 epidemic and a team of doctors fighting infection.

Later, on April 4, a film was released about Protsenko and his team of doctors in Kommunark, demonstrating the difficulties of the daily work of doctors.

Last week, a video from an interview with Protsenko RT, with more than 3 million views, was removed from the YouTube service. The moderators explained that the entry was marked as "invalid". Soon, the film was restored on the official RT channel without explanation.

The situation in Moscow

Since the beginning of the epidemic, 1394 people have recovered in the capital (189 in the last 24 hours), said Anastasia Rakova, deputy mayor of the city for social development. 113 infected died from complications arising from COVID-19 and concomitant diseases.

More than half of the 1,370 new cases of the disease in Moscow were recorded among citizens under the age of 45 (5.5% were children and 45% were between the ages of 18 and 45). Another 35% of those infected are in the range from 46 to 65 years old, 10.5% are from 66 to 80 years old and 4% are over 80 years old.

Rakova noted that if patients worsen, they will be hospitalized. However, the vice mayor indicated that the number of such cases does not exceed 4%.

However, on the evening of April 15, another seven patients who died due to complications due to coronavirus disease were reported to the Moscow Health Department. Most of the dead had concomitant diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cardiosclerosis, and oncology.

The main freelance epidemiologist of the Ministry of Health Nikolay Briko expressed the opinion that a decrease in the number of infected people in Moscow per day should be expected by the end of spring. Large-scale testing in Russia

The total number of people infected with coronavirus in Russia since the beginning of the epidemic has reached almost 28 thousand. Infected persons have been detected in 84 regions of the country, the Republic of Altai remains the only subject of the Federation where there are no cases yet.

On the eve it became known that Russia took the second place in the world in the total number of tests performed on COVID-19. Over the past day alone, 95.4 thousand laboratory tests were conducted (total - more than 1.61 million). In addition, the Rospotrebnadzor specified the number of laboratories in which you can take a test for coronavirus. In total, there are 376 such institutions in the country.

It is noted that now any laboratory, including private non-governmental institutions, has the right to organize testing for a new type of coronavirus infection. To do this, you need to submit a notice on the website of the Federal Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor. The only requirement in this case is the transfer of information to Rospotrebnadzor if a new coronavirus is detected.

“Today, in addition to 105 laboratories of Rospotrebnadzor, testing is available in 247 laboratories at state medical organizations and in 24 laboratories of private ownership,” the press release said. It is noted that testing is available in all regions of Russia.
