The Central Election Commission says the provisional turnout rate for the 21st general election is 66.2%.

It is the highest number in 28 years since it recorded 71.9% in the 1992 general election.

It is also the figure that exceeded the 58%, which is the most recent vote in the 20th general election in 2016, by 8.2% p.

The final turnout will be confirmed after the national counting deadline.

The vote, which began today at 6 am, has 2,912,840 out of 4,399,487 voters.

By region, Ulsan is the highest at 68.6% and Chungnam is the lowest at 62.4%.

The counting began at 251 ticket offices nationwide, but the outline of the district-elect electoral will be hidden around 2 AM tomorrow and the counting is expected to close around 4 PM.

In the case of proportional representatives, the ballots have been lengthened to 48.1 cm, so the ballot sorter cannot be used.
