Corona: "World Health" warns, the number of deaths exceeds 25 thousand in the United States

The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that the new Corona virus has not yet reached the height of its outbreak in the world, while the UNHCR has warned of the deteriorating conditions of some 70 million refugees living in places without health conditions.

This coincides with a steady rise in the number of HIV infections worldwide, including in the Arab region. The number of deaths due to the epidemic in the United States has exceeded 25,000, and the number of cases has risen to more than 600,000.

To date, the death toll due to the Corona virus has reached more than 121,000 deaths in the world, about 70% of which were recorded in Europe.

WHO spokesperson Margaret Harris stated that 90% of injuries were recorded in Europe and the United States, noting that the number of new cases decreased in some parts of Europe, including Italy and Spain, in exchange for a marked increase in other countries such as Britain and Turkey.

Refugee conditions
As for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, he warned of the deteriorating conditions of the nearly 70 million refugees who live in unsanitary conditions around the world, due to the spread of the epidemic.

He added - in an interview with Al Jazeera - that the organization sent an appeal to provide medical aid and housing throughout the world and in the communities hosting the refugees, noting that it had contacted many countries - especially the Gulf - to obtain financial support to help the refugees in these circumstances.

A Reuters survey showed that the number of deaths in the United States due to the new Corona virus exceeded 25,300 cases on Tuesday, that is, it doubled within one week.

The country - the third largest country in the world in terms of population - set a second record on Tuesday, when the number of HIV infections reached more than 600,000 cases, which is more than three times that of any other country.

The governors of the states of the US West Coast - Washington, Oregon and California - have agreed to prepare a joint plan to reopen economic activity, stressing that they will prioritize the safety of the population in any decision to ease restrictions on movement currently in place to curb the Corona outbreak.

The move follows a similar announcement made by the governors of six states on the east coast, including New York, whose governor Andrew Como said that if US President Donald Trump requested that the state be reopened in an unsafe manner, he would refuse to implement such a decision.

Trump said on Monday that he had absolute authority over the states regarding measures to counter Corona and issue a decision to lift the economic closure. He explained that he had received a request to close the country on January 11, without being in the United States at the time of any confirmed infection in Coruna.

Europe

In Europe, France has become the fourth country to cross the 15,000 death mark, after Italy, Spain and the United States.

Director of the Public Health Authority Jerome Salomon said that the number of HIV deaths in hospitals and nursing homes in France rose 5% after recording 762 deaths, bringing the total to 15,792, the highest daily toll since the outbreak began.

In Britain, 778 deaths were recorded, bringing the total to 12,107, but the death toll may be 15% higher, according to broader data that includes deaths outside hospitals, according to the Office for National Statistics.

Italy also saw 600 deaths, bringing the total to 21,067, and 2972 ​​new cases were recorded, bringing the number of injuries to nearly 162,490.

In Turkey, 4,062 new infections were recorded, bringing the total to 65,111, and 107 deaths were recorded, taking the death toll to 1403.

In Sweden, it recorded 114 new deaths from the Corona virus, bringing the total to 1033, as well as nearly 500 new infections, bringing the total to approximately 11,450.

In the Netherlands, there were 122 new deaths, in addition to approximately 870 new infections.

Egypt announced on Tuesday that it had recorded 14 new deaths from the emerging coronavirus, and confirmed 160 new infections.

The Ministry of Health stated that the total number of HIV infections in Egypt is 2350, of whom 514 recovered and discharged from isolation hospitals, and 178 deaths.

In Algeria, 13 deaths from the virus were announced, bringing the total death toll to 326, 87 new infections were recorded, bringing the total to 2070, while the number of similar parasites recovered to 691.

In Iraq, the Ministry of Health said that 22 injuries were recorded, and indicated that there were no deaths recorded, to settle at 78 deaths, while 766 people recovered.

Saudi Arabia recorded 8 deaths, bringing the total to 73 deaths, in addition to 435 new cases, bringing the number of injured to 5369.

In Oman, the Ministry of Health announced 86 new injuries, bringing the total number of injuries to 813.

In Kuwait, the third death from the Corona virus and 55 new infections was recorded, bringing the total number of infections to more than 1,350.

In Bahrain, the seventh death in Koruna and 161 new injuries was recorded, according to the Ministry of Health.

In Qatar, the Ministry of Health announced that 197 new cases had been registered, bringing the total to 3428.

In Morocco, 125 new cases were recorded in Corona, exceeding the total of 1888. The authorities announced that there were 5 cases of HIV infection inside a prison in the city of Ksar el-Kebir.

In Lebanon, the Ministry of Health announced the registration of 9 new injuries, bringing the total to 641.

In Palestine, the Ministry of Health announced the registration of 10 cases of corona, bringing the total number of injuries to 320, including injuries in Jerusalem.

The Syrian opposition health directorate said that the epidemiological monitoring laboratory in Idlib conducted tests for patients suspected of being infected with the Corona virus, and that the results of the analysis confirm that the province and the opposition areas are free of the virus so far.

In the areas controlled by the Syrian regime, SANA news agency reported that the death toll from the Coronavirus cases reached 25, five of whom were cured and two died.

In Jordan, the government announced on Tuesday a comprehensive curfew imposed on next Friday and Saturday. The Minister of Endowments, Muhammad Al-Khalayleh, said that prayer will be banned in mosques during the month of Ramadan, which begins next week, as part of measures to counter the spread of the Corona virus.

Jordan announced the registration of 391 confirmed cases of the Corona virus and seven deaths during the last period.
