The Central Election Commission today announced that the voter turnout rate for the 21st general election is 15.3% as of 11 am today (15th).

The vote that started today at 6 am, 673,112 of the 4,399,4247 voters participated.

This does not include pre-voting (26.69% of votes) held on the 10th to 11th.

Pre-voting adds to the voting rate, which will be released from 1:00 pm, along with residential (via mail) voting, on-board voting and overseas voting.

This turnout is 0.8 percentage point lower than the same time frame (16.1%) in the 2016 20th general election.

By region, Gangwon had the highest voter turnout of 16.9%.

Following Daegu 16.8%, Gyeongnam 16.4%, Gyeongbuk 16.2%, Ulsan 16.1%, Busan 15.9%, Chungnam 15.9%, Chungbuk 15.8%, Jeju 15.7%, Daejeon 15.4%, Gyeonggi 15.3%, Seoul 14.9%, Incheon 14%, Sejong 13.9%, Jeonbuk 13.8%, Jeonnam 13.8%.

The lowest place was Gwangju with 12.8%.

Daegu, which had the lowest voter turnout in the pre-voting, had the second highest voter turnout today, but Jeonbuk and Jeonnam, which had the highest turnout rate, had lower than the national average.

Today's 1,330 polling places across the country will end at 6 PM.

You can vote if you bring your resident registration card, passport, driver's license, youth certificate, or photo ID issued by a government office or public institution to a designated polling place near your residence.

However, Corona 19 self-containers will vote after 6 pm.

Ticketing starts at around 6:30 pm at 251 ticket offices nationwide.
