North Korea fired several cruise missiles in the Sea of Japan off its east coast on Tuesday (April 14th), the South Korean headquarters said.

Numerous ballistic missile shots

In recent years, North Korea, an atomic bomb country, has fired numerous ballistic missiles, missiles propelled very high in the air and which fall at a very fast speed towards their target due to the gravity .

Cruise missiles, for their part, remain at low altitude, sometimes only a few meters from the surface, which makes them more difficult to detect. They require very sophisticated guidance systems in order to reach their target.

The South Korean military said it is closely monitoring the development of the situation which is currently being analyzed by American and South Korean specialists.

Pyongyang is subject to multiple sanctions from the United Nations Security Council to force it to give up its banned nuclear and ballistic programs.
