According to reports, the Special Investigation Team on Digital Sex Crimes of the Central District Public Prosecutor ’s Office in Seoul, South Korea, filed a detention charge against Zhao Zhubin on the grounds of alleged violation of the Sexual Protection of Children and Youth Act.

Earlier, Jiang and Li, who were detained and transferred to trial under other suspicions, were also prosecuted for their involvement in the operation of the "Doctor's Room".

The South Korean prosecutor said that the "doctor's room" is centered on Zhao Zhubin to lure the victims, making and distributing sexual exploitation products in order to obtain profits. The additional confirmed accomplices and related residual crimes will also be thoroughly investigated.

According to previous reports, Korean media recently exposed a series of cybercrime incidents, collectively referred to as the "room N" case. An encrypted chat room opened on the instant messaging software Telegram. In these chat rooms, illegally exploited videos and photos of sexual exploitation are widely shared and can only be viewed by paying members. The platform can set up private chats, delete information regularly after reading, etc., to support virtual currency transactions.

"Room N" is operated by many people, and the one that attracts the most attention is the person nicknamed "Dr." who is actually named Zhao Zhubin. Since last year, he uploaded a large number of photos of alleged sexual crimes and blackmailed the victims. Many pictures are suspected of rape and humiliation of women, the picture is unsightly, and the means is extremely cruel.

Zhao Zhubin was transferred to the prosecution for review and prosecution on the 25th. He claimed to thank the victim.

According to a South Korean police investigation, there were more than 70 victims in Room N, including 16 minors.

The case aroused public anger. A large number of people issued multiple petitions on the Qingwatai government platform of the South Korean Presidential Palace. Among them, one petition requesting a thorough investigation was supported by over 2.5 million people, setting the highest number of petitions in South Korea. Many celebrities also expressed their solidarity with the victims and demanded that the suspect's information be disclosed.

South Korean President Wen Jae-in also demanded a thorough investigation of the people involved and severe penalties. He said that the government will delete the video involved in the case to provide assistance to the victims.
