It was during Easter Eve that Region Kronoberg assumed that another person had died in the suites of the corona virus. The person was a resident of the county and is thus not one of the patients from Sörmland that the region cares for in the intensive care unit in Växjö.
In the Kronoberg region, there has been a clear increase in patients who are confirmed to be ill in covid-19, and of patients who, as a result, need hospital care. During three days at the beginning of the week, 20 new cases were noted, a clear increase in new confirmed cases per day against previously.
- We see that the number of cases is increasing, although we are still lagging behind the major regions. We are preparing to be able to receive as many cases as in Stockholm, which we are working on fully. We can't do anything else, says infection prevention physician Christian Romin Blomkvist.
