“On the eve of the start of processing digital passes for traveling around Moscow, scammers have intensified on the Internet,” the department said.
Including a bot appeared in the Telegram messenger, offering the townspeople to allegedly issue a pass. Using it, scammers request a phone number and personal data of a citizen, including passport information.
“Also, proposals to issue a pass appear on social networks,” the agency warned.
According to the decree of the Moscow Mayor, three methods for obtaining digital passes were approved in the capital, including online at mos.ru, by calling the Moscow Government's unified help desk +7 (495) 777-77-77 and via SMS to 7377 short number. Badges are free.
Also, scammers use methods of sending SMS messages supposedly from government bodies with a demand to pay a “fine” for quarantine or self-isolation violations.
