Italy has announced 431 deaths from Covid-19 disease in the past 24 hours, Sunday April 12. It was his weakest record since March 19, more than three weeks ago.

Since that date, this figure has never fallen below 500 dead. This new assessment, listed by civil protection, is almost a third less heavy than that announced on Saturday: 619 deaths were then recorded.

Decrease in new cases of contamination

The number of new cases of contamination is also down, from 4,092 against 4,694 on Saturday, the civil defense agency said in a statement.

With nearly 20,000 dead, according to official accounts, Italy is one of the countries worst affected by the pandemic.
