The American Wall Street Journal reported that the Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, spent the past days retreating with some of his associates. This came some days after a New York Times report stating that he had isolated himself and some of his ministers over Corona.

The Wall Street Journal quoted sources close to the Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad bin Salman, as he spent the last days retreating with his aides, to discuss ways to pull his country's economy out of its crisis.

She explained that the price crisis sparked by the Saudi-Russian dispute and aggravated by the decline in demand due to the Corona pandemic came at a critical moment for the Saudi crown prince who needs money to consolidate his influence and finance his plans, and it also came at a politically critical moment for Trump who relies on supporting oil companies to win a second term, and to the president Russian Vladimir Putin, who wants to prolong his rule.

She explained that the agreement to reduce Russian-Saudi production, if it continues, would be considered a victory for Trump because it took place without requiring American oil companies to cut production.

On the other hand, the Saudi Press Agency said that Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman received a phone call from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

She added that the two sides reviewed the efforts made to stabilize and maintain energy markets to support the growth of the global economy. They stressed the importance of cooperation of all producing countries to achieve this.

The Kremlin also announced that Putin discussed with his US counterpart Donald Trump in the second contact within twenty-four hours the situation in the global oil market, and that they exchanged views on the OPEC Plus agreement.

Putin and Trump agreed to continue Russian-American consultations on this issue. The two presidents also discussed the outbreaks of the Coruna epidemic and ways of international cooperation to combat it.

A report in the American New York Times published a few days ago revealed that the Corona epidemic had reached the Saudi royal family and infected dozens of its members with the virus.

The newspaper report indicated that 150 members of the Saudi royal family were infected with the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19), and that the Prince of Riyadh Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is one of the infected, and that he is currently in intensive care.

The newspaper revealed that the Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz isolated himself in a palace on an island at the Red Sea near Jeddah after the outbreak of the epidemic, and that his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and some ministers also isolated themselves in a remote area near the Red Sea.
